Why do you can?


Hey, hey everyone! I have been gone for a while because I have been very ill from the recent sweep of Influenza A that swept through the city of Toronto recently. I can't believe how ill I got, but on the bright side I got some time off work finally. 
While I didn't get to do any canning while ill, I have been on the net reading up about it. While reading random articles about pressure canners recently, I came across several "Preppers" forums about canning. I am actually fascinated by the concept of "Preppers". I enjoy canning because it's cheap, fun & what I make almost always tastes better than what comes from the store. I also enjoy learning a new skill & the depth of information to acquire about food preparation is ongoing. I had never heard of the term "Preppers" until now. Mostly because of this article I found the other day.

It makes me wonder why everyone else cans. Are you a foodie? Are you cheap like me? Are you worried the Zombie apocalypse might actually happen? Let me know.
